5 Ways to Stay Fit On a Budget

Plenty of us may want to trim down or just stay fit without having to fork out large sums of money for gym fees. Let’s face it; many of us need to get out short term loans to help us with the expenses all of us incur simply just for everyday living. But if you’re not sure how to get motivated and moving without regular gym visits we’ve got some great ideas to get you going!

  • Hit the pavement - There’s nothing like taking a walk in the fresh air to get the blood flowing. Walking is a great low impact form of exercise and is perfect for everyone. All you need is some sturdy shoes and off you go! The fresh air will do you good as well.

If you find it difficult to get motivated exercising alone, get a friend to start walking with you, or join a local walking group.

  • Exercise DVD’s - Exercise DVD’s are a great way to stay fit from the comfort of your own home. You can purchase pilates, aerobics and yoga DVDs. Practically any form of gym class you like attending has some form of DVD workout equivalent.
  • Go bike riding – Whether it’s a casual ride up the street and back or on a bike trail, taking bike rides is a great way to increase your fitness and get the blood circulating. If you always enjoyed bike riding but have put your bike to the back of the shed because you have lost interest, get it out and dust it off. You’ll be surprised just how much fun you had once you start using it again.
  • Playing sport with friends - Free most Saturday mornings? Why not have tennis matches with your partner or your friends? Or perhaps basketball is more your thing so you’d rather shoot some hoops? Whatever sport you like to play, you don’t have to join a club to enjoy giving it a go. Get some friends together and have a game. It’s all about having fun.
  • Get a walking/jogging group together at work - As we mentioned earlier, it can be difficult to exercise when you are on your own. But if you’re in a group situation you are more likely to push yourself harder. If you find that you struggle to get up early and have the evenings completely full with feeding and looking after the kids then why not start a lunch time walking or jogging group at your work? It’s a great way to get people together with similar interests and ensure you are getting your exercise in every day, for free.

Many of us have had to utilise the assistance of payday loans in order to get on top of our bills and while we want to exercise, the thought of sport club fees and gym memberships can really be a turn off. I hope our list of ideas has given you the inspiration you need to get up and get moving, without it costing you a thing.
